Men's Fellowship Group 1st Tuesday of every month at 6.30pm at the Parish Centre.

Everyone enjoys good music and especially when it's from a pool of local talent. For this purpose St Thomas' holds concert events in the Church. We have some great local talent such as the "2nd Wind" Concert and Stage Bands; "Express Male" A Capella group; individual artists who perform with oboe and clarinet, and of course our Parish Choir! So please come along and enjoy the talents of many people, and also help raise funds for the Church.

St Thomas' Parish holds an annual Agape meal on the Thursday evening before Good Friday. Everyone is welcome to participate in the meal, and also the traditional washing of feet, but that is purely optional! It is a great opportunity for fellowship and to enjoy a great meal together in the Parish Centre.

The Definition of Agape: a-ga-pe [ah-gah-pey, ah-guy-pey, ag-uh] from Ancient Greek agape means:
a. God's unconditional love for us
b. A pure selfless love of one person for another
c. And a feast shared as a sign of love and fellowship

Agape is one of the Greek words translated into English meaning love, one which became particularly appropriated in Christian theology as the love of God or Christ for mankind. In the New Testament, it refers to the fatherly love of God for humans, as well as the human reciprocal love for God; the term necessarily extends to the love of one's fellow man. Many have thought that this word represents divine, unconditional, self-sacrificing, active, volitional, and thoughtful love". Ref: Wikipedia

Old Friends Luncheon
The Old Friend's Luncheon is held annually in the Parish Centre. The luncheon provides an opportunity for parishioners who have moved to retirement villages outside the Parish, or who are no longer able to attend regular Sunday Services, to get together to have a catch up chat and enjoy a meal together. Parishioners are also invited to attend, and some parishioners also provide transport for the 'oldies', collecting them from their homes and taking them home again after the function. There is no charge for the luncheon, as the Brisbane City Council provides some financial assistance. On occasions, the attendees take up a collection toward the luncheon as thanks for the opportunity to share this special time together.

Please see our CALENDAR OF EVENTS for the next Old Friend's Luncheon.

New Friends Welcome Event
Similarly to the "Old Friends Luncheon" St Thomas' aims to hold a "New Friends" Welcome event. Details will be posted on our CALENDAR OF EVENTS.

Movie Night
"Friday night at the movies" is another great way of sharing some laughs and fellowship! Our first movie night was held in November 2011, with "Pay It Forward". It was very well attended and it is hoped to hold regular movie nights in the Parish Centre, or organise a group to go and see a current movie that holds some 'meaning' or relevance to the group. So keep an eye on the CALENDAR OF EVENTS.

Wine & Cheese Night
The St Thomas' Wine and Cheese nights are becoming quite popular! With specially selected wines and cheeses, it's been a fun night, with a little quiz thrown in to keep everyone on their toes. Please see the CALENDAR OF EVENTS for the next event.

Hymns Singing
St Thomas Church not only has its own St Thomas' Choir, but we also organise Hymn singing so everyone can join in, such as the well known Wesley Hymns. The event is usually held on a Sunday afternoon, and has been well attended. Please see our CALENDAR OF EVENTS for future events.
